Board Meetings start at 8:00 p.m.

General Rules and RegulationsGeneral Rules and Regulations

Competition at the Ledyard Fair is open to all; unless otherwise stated.

Entry fees are charged only when noted under the rules of specific event or competition.

Fair prizes are limited to ribbons, except as noted.

Sweepstakes prizes shall consist of a rosette ribbon.  Cash will be awarded in the following departments only:     CANNING * FRUITS AND VEGETABLES * COOKING * FLOWER SHOW * HANDIWORK * ADULT HOBBIES.  The greatest number of blue ribbons shall determine the placing.  In case of a tie, red ribbons shall be used as a tie breaker.

Sweepstakes shall be awarded as follows:

Adult (Over 18) Intermediate (12-17) Junior
1st-Blue Rosette, plus $25.00 1st-Blue Rosette, plus $20.00 1st-Blue Rosette, plus $15.00
2nd-Red Rosette, plus $20.00 2nd-Red Rosette, plus $15.00 2nd-Red Rosette, plus $10.00
3rd-White Rosette, plus $5.00 3rd-White Rosette, plus $10.00 3rd-White Rosette, plus $5.00

A contestant must have a minimum of two different entries in any one department to qualify for sweepstakes.

BEST IN SHOW - A best in show rosette and a $25.00 cash award will be offered in the following categories:  Children's Hobbies, Adult Hobbies, Canning, Handiwork, Cooking, Flower Show, Fruits and Vegetables, Best Fowl, Best Small Animal and Best Pet.

LEDYARD FAIR OUTSTANDING COMPETITOR AWARD

Adult (over 18) - Plaque plus $50.00

Intermediate (12 to 17) - Plaque plus $35.00

Junior (5 to 11) - Trophy plus $20.00

Must exhibit in three or more sweepstakes departments.

Awards will be determined by a point system and the decision of the committee will be final.

Blue - 3 points * Red - 2 points White - 1 point

All exhibits must be entered under their proper name and must be on grounds and in place according to the rules of the specific event or competition.  Please note:  Entry times vary for most all events.  Some require entries as early as Thursday afternoon, with judging Thursday evening.  Check your event to be sure.

Exhibits must be removed from the fairgrounds at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, unless otherwise noted under the rules of the event.  Exhibits on the grounds after 7:00 p.m. on Sunday will be sold for the benefit of the Fair unless previous arrangements are made.

The Committee will not be responsible for any accidents that may occur on the grounds. 

The Committee will exercise the greatest care to insure the safety of exhibits, but will not be responsible for loss or damage which may occur.

Commercial exhibits will be accommodated on the grounds if arrangements are made with the Commercial Exhibits Chairman in advance.

Judges' decisions are final.

All contestants compete at their own risk.

All exhibitors are also subject to the rules outlined for each individual department.

Admission fees, according to the posted schedule, will be charged to all persons entering the grounds.  Admission of competing animals and their handlers will be arranged by the chairperson(s) of the respective events.

Any situations not covered by these rules shall be left to the discretion of the Ledyard Fair, Inc.

All competitors will compete at their own risk.

No non-entered animals are allowed on the fairgrounds except handicap assistance animals.

Ledyard Fair, Inc., reserves the right to make all final decisions that are not covered in the above rules and regulations.
