SHOW RULES- No Sales Allowed!

  1. All entries must be received by September 1, 2015.  NO POST ENTRIES.  Pre-registration is required.
  2. Rabbits and guinea pigs must be brought to the fair and caged between 2:00 – 9:00 p.m Friday.  No walk in entries will be accepted after 9:00 pm Friday and can be removed Sunday at 6:00 p.m. No Vehicles Allowed on Fairgrounds until 6:00 pm Sunday
  3. A camping application is required if exhibitor is staying on grounds.
  4. All rabbits competing must be the property of the exhibitors.
  5. Sick or diseased animals will be removed from the show tent. The show superintendents reserve the right to examine any entry.
  6. Rabbits and guinea pigs must have their toenails clipped prior to the show.
  7. No one except the judge and their attendants are allowed behind the show table.  Exhibitors will not be allowed to open cages during fair operating hours.
  8. There will be two (2) categories of rabbits: A.    Purebred an Purebred Pet:  A purebred or grade rabbit that shows breed characteristics.  It may have minor imperfections.       B.     Pet:  Mixed breeds.
  9. Classes will be: A.     Sr. Bucks & Does – 6 months and older      B.     Jr. Bucks & Does – under 6 months        C. Showmanship
  10. Judges decision is final.
  11. Cages, grain and bedding will be provided.  Exhibitors MUST supply heavy or weighted feed and water dishes.
  12. Prizes: 1st place in each category: $5, 2nd Place in each category: $4, 3rd Place in each category: $3  Judging will be based on the Danish System.  Ribbons will also be awarded.  A Ribbon and $25 will be awarded to the Champion.
  13. Showmanship will be available to individuals 19 years of age and under on Sunday at 11 AM at the Rabbit and Guinea Pig tent. • Novice Showmanship – individuals age 19 and under who has never shown rabbits or guinea pigs before • Freshman Showmanship – ages 9 and under • Junior Showmanship – ages 10-14 • Senior Showmanship – ages 15-19

Livestock and Rabbit Registration

  • A copy of this form will be emailed to you.
  • I have read and agree to abide by the general rules, CT Department of Agricultural Fair and Show Requirements, IAFE By-Laws, IAFE Code of Ethics and the IAFE Show Ring Code of Ethics. I also understand that I will not eat in the barn and I will park in the designated parking locations. For Safety and protections you must clean up after your animal.
    2 Age Groups : 5-10 and 11-18 $10 award each category. Please Check if you will or will not be making a display
  • 4-H clubs and farms are encouraged to decorate their exhibit, keep their area clean and provide the knowledge to the community. $25 awards will be provided for each category and the categories will be:
  • Saturday at 7pm there will be a Pot Luck Dinner for all poultry, livestock and rabbit exhibitors. We are requesting each family to bring either a main dish, fruit, vegetables, or dessert to the dinner. Please enter exhibitors name.
