Ledyard Fair Website Terms of Use and Policies

The ground rules for using this website, written so you can actually read them.

Last updated: October 10, 2024

This page explains what you can expect from the Ledyard Fair website and what we expect from the people who use it. We have tried to keep the legal language to a minimum. Where we had to be precise, we were precise. Everywhere else, we wrote plainly.

Acceptance of Terms

When you browse this site, you agree to the terms laid out here. That applies whether you are a returning volunteer checking the schedule, a vendor reviewing booth details, or a first-time visitor planning a Saturday afternoon at the fairgrounds.

If any part of these terms doesn't sit right with you, the simplest answer is to not use the site. We won't take it personally. But continued use means you accept the version published on this page.

Acceptable Use Standards

Most people who land here are looking for fair dates, exhibit rules, or directions to parking. That's exactly what the site is for. A few standards keep it working for everyone.

What we ask of you: When you submit anything through a form on this site, give us accurate information. Registrations built on false details create real headaches for the people sorting livestock entries or vendor placements at around five in the morning.

Beyond honesty, the rules are short. Don't try to break, probe, or overload the site's security or availability. Don't use it for anything unlawful, and don't use it to harass or abuse other people. We run a community event. The website should feel like one.

Content Use License

You're welcome to read, save, and print the material on this site for your own personal, non-commercial use. Bookmark the entertainment lineup. Print the map. Show a friend the competition categories.

What you can't do is republish or redistribute our content as your own, or use it commercially, without asking first. The text, photographs, logos, and layout belong to the Ledyard Fair or to the people who licensed them to us. A poster from a past fair isn't free clip art, and the event photos took someone real effort to capture.

If you want to use something — a logo for a sponsorship piece, a photo for a local newsletter, reach out. We say yes more often than you'd think.

No Warranties Provided

We keep this site current as best we can, especially around fair season. Schedules shift, though. A rained-out event gets rescheduled, a performer cancels, a gate time changes the week before.

So the site and everything on it come to you on an "as available" basis. We don't guarantee that every detail is accurate or complete at the moment you read it. For anything where the stakes are high — say, a contractual question about a vendor agreement or a legal matter, check with the appropriate professional rather than relying on a web page.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Ledyard Fair isn't liable for damages that come from your use of this site. That covers indirect, incidental, and consequential losses — the downstream kind of harm, not just the obvious kind.

Put plainly: if a listed time turns out wrong and you miss the pie-judging, we're sympathetic, but we're not on the hook for it. This is a volunteer-supported community website, and it operates within the limits of what volunteers and a small association can reasonably promise.

Governing Law and Modifications

These terms are interpreted under the laws of the jurisdiction where the fair operates. If a dispute ever arises, it falls to the competent local courts to handle. And should any single clause here be found unenforceable, the rest of the terms stay fully in effect.

Changes to These Terms

We revise these terms from time to time as the fair grows and the site changes. When we do, the new date appears at the top of this page. Using the site after an update means you accept the revised version, so it's worth a glance now and then.
